OKC Arts Council's Opening Night

Ring in the New Year at OKC’s largest family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration, Opening Night 2023. Since 1987, Opening Night has been the place for families and friends to enjoy the performing arts and “open” the New Year in the spirit of community. Starting at  7 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2022, downtown Oklahoma City will be the setting for a variety of entertainment to celebrate the beginning of a new year. 

Entertainment

Purchase wristbands in advance for $8 that will grant you access to live entertainment throughout the evening. This includes music, a mural competition and a children’s area with themed, hands-on art projects. Everything is in ONE PLACE this year, at Bicentennial Park. You’ll find fun for everyone all night long! 

There will be a fireworks extravaganza at midnight, featuring pyrotechnics, music and celebration. The finale begins about 20 minutes before midnight with live music, a light show and plenty of excitement. At 11:58, the Rising Ball begins its ascent, and the live countdown begins.

Finale 5K

Kick off New Year’s Eve right by registering for Arts Council OKC’s annual Finale 5K! This festive run begins at 3:00 p.m.
